After a week of closure due to heavy rainfall and the red alert issued by the Costa Rican government, Manuel Antonio National Park has reopened its doors this Wednesday, providing great news for both tourists and local communities that rely on the influx of visitors.

The park, one of the country’s most popular tourist destinations, had temporarily closed approximately one week as a safety measure due to intense rainfall and landslides that created hazardous conditions. Additionally, the government activated a red alert in several regions, including the Pacific coastal area, which impacted tourism in the region.

However, after several days of monitoring the weather conditions and a noticeable decrease in precipitation intensity, the government decided to lift the red alert and allow the park to reopen. Local and national authorities highlighted that conditions have significantly improved, and the weather is now more favorable for outdoor activities.

The reopening of Manuel Antonio is a relief for the local community of Quepos and surrounding areas, which heavily rely on tourism generated by the influx of both national and international visitors. During the closure, businesses, tour guides, and workers in the hospitality sector saw a drop in their income, making the park's reactivation even more urgent.

"The reopening of the park is great news. It will allow us to recover part of what we lost during the week of closure," said Carlos Rodríguez, owner of a small hotel in Quepos. "Manuel Antonio is our main tourist attraction, and its closure had a direct impact on many families working in the sector."

Manuel Antonio National Park, known for its beautiful beaches, unique biodiversity, and nature-filled trails, is one of Costa Rica's most visited places. Each year, thousands of tourists flock to this park to enjoy the beauty of its natural surroundings, making the reactivation of this activity vital for the local economy.

With the reopening, it is expected that the flow of tourists will begin to normalize and local businesses can continue their operations in a more stable environment. Authorities have assured that they will remain alert and ready to respond to any changes in weather conditions, but for now, the community and tourists can enjoy one of Costa Rica's most important natural wonders.
